Create a QR code that opens the dialer with your number ready to call
A phone QR code encodes a tel: link. Scanning it opens the phone's dialer with the number filled in; the caller confirms with one tap. The code never dials by itself, so an accidental scan can't place a call.
Use international format: a plus sign, the country code, then the number. A local number like 555-123-4567 works for local scanners but fails for anyone abroad; +1-555-123-4567 works for both. Dashes and spaces are fine — phones ignore them.
+1-555-123-4567
Country code +1, then area code and number
+44-7700-900123
Country code +44, leading 0 dropped
+1-800-555-0199
Toll-free numbers take a country code too
